AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE MISSISSIPPI BUREAU OF INVESTIGATION TO INVESTIGATE ALL LAW ENFORCEMENT PERSONNEL PLACED ON ADMINISTRATIVE LEAVE AND TO ISSUE SUBPOENAS FOR SUCH INVESTIGATIONS; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:
SECTION 1. The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation is authorized to conduct investigations of all law enforcement personnel placed on administrative leave. The bureau shall have the power to issue any subpoenas necessary to conduct such investigations including, but not limited to, subpoenas to persons and subpoenas for any documents.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2016.
