House Bill 469

AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION 37-151-6, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, TO PROVIDE THAT THE MISSISSIPPI ADEQUATE EDUCATION PROGRAM SHALL ONLY BE FUNDED AT A LEVEL IN THE DISCRETION OF THE LEGISLATURE AS FUNDS ARE AVAILABLE; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

     SECTION 1.  Section 37-151-6, Mississippi Code of 1972, is amended as follows:

     37-151-6.  Effective with fiscal year * * * 20072016, the * * *Legislature shall fully fund the Mississippi Adequate Education Program shall only be funded at a level in the discretion of the Legislature as funds are available.

     SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
