Senate Concurrent Resolution 620

A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION TO DESIGNATE MARCH 2015 AS "AMERICAN RED CROSS MONTH" IN MISSISSIPPI.

     WHEREAS, American Red Cross Month is a special time to recognize and thank our Everyday Heroes - those who reach out to help people in need; and

     WHEREAS, the heroes of the American Red Cross help disaster victims recover, give blood to help hospital patients, volunteer to brighten the day of an injured service member and step forward to help someone having a heart attack; and

     WHEREAS, because of their dedication to care for others, these heroes deserve a month of recognition here in Mississippi to honor those who help people in need and who work tirelessly to assist their neighbors when they need a helping hand; and

     WHEREAS, across the country and around the world, the American Red Cross responds to disasters; and

     WHEREAS, we dedicate the month of March to all those who support the American Red Cross mission to prevent and alleviate human suffering in the face of emergencies; and

     WHEREAS, the American Red Cross relies on donations of time, money and blood to fulfill its humanitarian mission:

     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES CONCURRING THEREIN, That we do hereby proclaim March 2015 as "American Red Cross Month" in the State of Mississippi, commend this organization for its noble humanitarian mission and welcome representatives of the Mississippi Chapter of the American Red Cross on the occasion of "Red Cross Day at the Capitol" on March 19, 2015.

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That this resolution be presented to the Mississippi Chapter of the American Red Cross and made available to the Capitol Press Corps.
