A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING THE MADISON CENTRAL HIGH SCHOOL "LADY JAGUAR" SOCCER TEAM FOR AN OUTSTANDING 2014-2015 SEASON AND FOR WINNING THE MHSAA 6A STATE CHAMPIONSHIP.

     WHEREAS, Madison Central High School, led by Head Soccer Coach Cecil Hinds, will add yet another State Championship to its trophy case for soccer.  The Lady Jaguars won the school's 7th State Title in Girls Soccer on February 7, 2015, defeating Ocean Springs 3-2 at Arrow Field in Clinton to claim the Mississippi High School Activities Association (MHSAA) 6A State Championship.  This is back-to-back State Championship wins for the Lady Jaguar Team.  Sophomore Maggie Overby and Seniors Meagan Ogburn and Brecken Reeves each scored for the Lady Jaguars to continue their Statewide Championship reign; and

     WHEREAS, the Lady Jaguars finished the 2014-2015 season with an overall record of 18 wins, 2 losses and 1 tie, ranking Number 1 in the state and Number 6 nationally in MaxPreps' rankings.  The Lady Jaguars defeated Grenada in the first round of playoffs 3-0, and defeated DeSoto Central in the second round with a score of 6-1.  The Lady Jaguars continued their winning streak with a 1-0 win over Tupelo to clinch the North State Championship Title which led to the State Championship game against Ocean Springs; and

     WHEREAS, the 2014-2015 Madison Central High School Lady Jaguar Soccer Team Championship Roster includes Seniors:  Kristen Eddy, Megan Endt, Meagan Ogburn, Mary Elizabeth Pace, Brecken Reeves, Jenna Walzer, Jessica Walzer, Meg Watson and Courtney Wooten; Juniors:  Elliott Allen, Anna Blocker, Allie Grace Borst, Brooke Burrell, Tay Cavett, Madison Deslatte, Scarlett Hodges, Emily LeDoux, Alex Parker and Caroline Runion; Sophomores:  Sarah Chastain, Kim Hardy, Caitlyn Klauser, Mary Eliza McCarley, Maggie Overby, Kate Russell Snopek and Camille Summerlin; and Freshmen:  Carley Ahlrich, Garland Carmichael, Lucy Cavett, Holland Meyers, Mary Carolyn Nichols, Ashton Reeves, Isabella Wade, Mary Grace Winston and Abby Wright; and Head Coach Cecil Hinds; Assistant Coaches Ashley Davis and Aubrey Weems; Volunteer Coach Leonard Swilley; and Team Managers:  Victoria Breland, Taylor Lindsey and Kennedy Walker; and

     WHEREAS, it is with great pride that we recognize this accomplishment by a team of student athletes who have brought honor to their school, their community, and to the State of Mississippi:

     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES CONCURRING THEREIN, That we do hereby commend and congratulate the 2014-2015 Madison Central Lady Jaguar Soccer Team and Head Coach Cecil Hinds for winning the Mississippi High School Activities Association (MHSAA) 6A State Championship and extend to the players, coaches and parents our best wishes on this occasion and for future successes.

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That this resolution be presented to Coach Cecil Hinds and Principal Austin Brown for the team, forwarded to the Madison County School Board, and made available to the Capitol Press Corps.
