House Resolution 124

A RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING THE EAST RANKIN ACADEMY LADY PATRIOTS BASKETBALL TEAM FOR WINNING THE MISSISSIPPI ASSOCIATION OF INDEPENDENT SCHOOLS DIVISION II AAA CHAMPIONSHIP.

     WHEREAS, the East Rankin Academy Lady Patriots Basketball Team capped off their outstanding season by winning the Mississippi Association of Independent Schools (MAIS) Division II Class AAA Championship; and

     WHEREAS, with this championship win, the Lady Patriots have maintained their school's tradition of winning and brought praise and glory to the East Rankin Academy name; and

     WHEREAS, the Lady Patriots have been superbly coached and inspired by Head Coach Rod Delaney, who has broadened the Lady Patriots' knowledge of the game and refined their skills in execution; and

     WHEREAS, the 2014-2015 Lady Patriots' roster is:  Abby Usry, Ali Whatley, Marley Maddox, Peyton Rhodes, Chloe Cunningham, Elizabeth Tuttle, Hannah Walters, Brittany Wade, Madison Brunt, Annabeth Bowman, Jean Ross, Madison Bradford, Mackenzie Thompson, Carolyn Nickels, Brooke Turnage, Hannah Caldwell, Morgan McKinion, Head Coach Rod Delaney and Assistant Coach Seth Cheatham; and

     WHEREAS, the Lady Patriots have developed a winning and cooperative spirit and a high degree of sportsmanship, and their activities and attitude reflect great credit upon the individual players and their coaches and bring honor to East Rankin Academy; and

     WHEREAS, it is the policy of the House of Representatives to recognize the excellent student athletes of our state, whose hard work and determination bring great pride to their families, their school and their state:

     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend and congratulate the East Rankin Academy Lady Patriots Basketball Team upon winning the MAIS Division II Class AAA Championship and extend best wishes for continued success in all of their future athletic and academic endeavors.

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to East Rankin Academy and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
