House Resolution 105

A RESOLUTION COMMENDING MRS. WANDA SWEENEY UPON RETIREMENT AFTER MANY YEARS OF DEDICATED SERVICE AS CHANCERY CLERK AND COUNTY ADMINISTRATOR OF CHICKASAW COUNTY.

WHEREAS, Mrs. Wanda Sweeney has dedicated her life to the citizens of this great state, and is retiring after many years as a public service employee; and

WHEREAS, Mrs. Sweeney's public service began with the City of Okolona, Mississippi, where she was an employee for 20 years, faithfully serving the city to the best of her ability; and

WHEREAS, in 2002, Mrs. Sweeney began working in Budget and Accounting for the City of Tupelo, where she enjoyed her time managing the budget and ensuring that the city remained in compliance; and

WHEREAS, for the last eight years, Mrs. Sweeney has served as the Chancery Clerk and County Administrator of Chickasaw County; and

WHEREAS, after many days of searching her heart, Mrs. Sweeney has decided to retire from public service; and

WHEREAS, Mrs. Sweeney has been lovingly supported throughout her career by her husband, Doug Sweeney, and their four children; and

WHEREAS, during her retirement, she plans on giving more time to her church, Faith Outreach Church in Okolona, and enjoy her hobbies of reading, gardening and travel; and

WHEREAS, it is the policy of the House of Representatives to commend the dedicated public service employees of our state such as Mrs. Wanda Sweeney, whose mission is to improve the lives of our citizens:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend Mrs. Wanda Sweeney upon her retirement after many years of dedicated service as Chancery Clerk and County Administrator of Chickasaw County, and wish her good health, much success and enjoyment during her retirement.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to Mrs. Wanda Sweeney and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
