House Resolution 77

A RESOLUTION COMMENDING THE DEDICATED SERVICE AND DISTINGUISHED CAREER ACCOMPLISHMENTS OF MR. SAMMY HOUSTON AINSWORTH AND CONGRATULATING HIM UPON THE OCCASION OF HIS RETIREMENT.

     WHEREAS, for the past 29 years, Mr. Sammy Houston Ainsworth has been a financial pillar and staple employee of the Rankin County Branch of Trustmark National Bank, becoming more than a name, but a face and disposition that is synonymous with professionalism and courteous generosity and has been the hallmark icon ever to be associated with the bank; and

     WHEREAS, a graduate of Harrisville High School, Mr. Ainsworth attended Copiah-Lincoln Community College before matriculating to accomplish the attainment of his baccalaureate degree from the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss), in addition to completing the university's Mississippi School of Banking; and

     WHEREAS, an invaluable asset to the City of Florence and the entire Rankin County area whose outstanding citizenry has been marked by a life dedicated to community service, Mr. Ainsworth has been a member of the Rankin County Chamber of Commerce for the past 28 years, serving on the Executive Board and various other positions including the Chamber's Leadership Team; and

     WHEREAS, currently serving in the capacity as Vice President and Manager of the Florence Branch, Sammy's retirement as of June 30, 2015, gives cause to nostalgic and appreciative reflection for his years of service at Trustmark Bank as a pivotally instrumental benefactor of some of the establishments most successful programs and marketing strategies to increase business and better serve the local community and surrounding areas through his volunteerism and presence at all events that Trustmark participated in, including the Senior Luncheon; and

     WHEREAS, as fate would lend itself to the building upon the blueprint divinely designed for the pattern of his life by the God-head of the great deity, Mr. Ainsworth's chivalry and affection pierced the heart of Marla S. Ainsworth, and the duo became bone of one another's bone and flesh of one another's flesh after exchanging the nuptials of holy matrimony more than 37 years ago, completing their family unit with the fruitful addition of daughters, Melinda Ainsworth Brady (Bruce) and Melanie Ainsworth, and granddaughter, Ainsley Kate Brady; and

     WHEREAS, a God-fearing Christian before all other roles he assumed, a devoted husband and caring father next, and always the community champion, Mr. Ainsworth, a member of Marvin United Methodist Church since 1974, possesses the ambitious spirit akin to that of King David, as a man after God's own heart, who remains committed to kingdom-building through his service as a chairman of several committees during the course of his affiliation and fulfilling his current role as financial secretary, and civically as a committed member of the Lions Club for the past 35 years, serving as past president, vice president and currently as treasurer; and

     WHEREAS, an individual called to the fulfillment of missions destined for success, Sammy is a founding member of the Florence Area Men's Association for 15 years and served as the organization's secretary/treasurer, which raised funds for the Florence Park and Youth Association that awarded graduating high school seniors from the area schools with scholarships; and

     WHEREAS, it is the policy of the House of Representative to acknowledge the humanitarian characteristics of such a noble individual as Mr. Sammy Ainsworth, whose life and life's work are shining examples of Mississippi's innate ability to produce exceptional business and community leaders:

     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend the dedicated service and distinguished career accomplishments of Mr. Sammy Houston Ainsworth, and congratulate him upon the occasion of his retirement and extend best wishes for much happiness in the lighter years of his life.

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to Mr. Sammy Houston Ainsworth and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
