AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF ALCORN COUNTY, MISSISSIPPI, TO ENTER INTO CERTAIN ROAD AND BRIDGE IMPROVEMENT CONTRACTS REGARDLESS OF WHETHER THE CONTRACTS MAY EXTEND BEYOND 30 DAYS FROM THE TERMINATION AND END OF THE TERM OF OFFICE OF THE MEMBERS OF THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS AWARDING THE CONTRACTS; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

     SECTION 1.  (1)  The Board of Supervisors of Alcorn County, Mississippi, is authorized, in its discretion, to receive competitive bids and enter into the following road and bridge maintenance and/or construction contracts:

          (a)  SAP 2(65) Bridge 27 Kendrick;

          (b)  SAP 2(19)S;

          (c)  SAP 2(64);

          (d)  SAP 2(13)M;

          (e)  SAP 2(66) Bridge on Bain Creek;

          (f)  SAP 02(67) Farmington Road;

          (g)  LSBP 2(21) Bridge 140 Redmont RR;

          (h)  LSBP 2(20) Bridge 20;

          (i)  LSBP 02(22) Bridge 13;

          (j)  BR 09987(7)B Bridge 40, 41, 42;

          (k)  STP/BR 0002( )B Bridge 15;

          (l)  STP 0945(3)B Bridge 49 CR 604;

          (m)  2015 Bridge Inspection;

          (n)  2016 Bridge Inspection;

          (o)  5pts APL-0943(14)B/Kendrick Rd Imps;

          (p)  Miscellaneous Engineering;

          (q)  Alcorn/Corinth Recreational Complex;

          (r)  CDBG Chalybeate Water Imprv 2013;

          (s)  Ayrshire Electronics (DIP); and

          (t)  Avectus Project.

     (2)  The Board of Supervisors of Alcorn County may enter into contracts as authorized in this section for any length of time as may be determined by the board of supervisors regardless of whether the contracts may extend beyond thirty (30) days from the termination and end of the term of office of the members of the board of supervisors awarding the contracts.

     SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
