Senate Concurrent Resolution 639

A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING AND SALUTING THE CLINTON HIGH SCHOOL "ATTACHÉ" SHOW CHOIR AND DIRECTORS DAVID AND MARY FEHR FOR 25TH GRAND CHAMPION VICTORY AND FOR ITS OUTSTANDING 2013-2014 COMPETITION SEASON.

     WHEREAS, Clinton High School's Attaché Show Choir was named Grand Champion at the Xtravaganza Show Choir competition on March 22, 2014, in Los Alamitos, California.  Attaché also won top awards for best costumes, best musicianship, and best showmanship.  Senior Alex Jackson and sophomore Casey Collier were recognized as top male/female performers.  Sophomore Christian Trejo was selected as best male soloist.  The California Show Choirs of Burbank and John Burroughs High Schools finished Second and Third, respectively, at the prestigious competition; and

     WHEREAS, renowned Clinton High School Attaché Show Choir is composed of 42 singer/dancers, 11 crew members, and 17 pit members and is led by Directors David and Mary Fehr, Pit Director Robert Allen, Crew Director Deborah Morgan, and Technical Director Robert Gatewood.  Choreographers include April James, Kellis Oldenburg, Dexter Bishop, Dwight Jordan, Kurt Gulsvig and Stephen Todd; and

     WHEREAS, Xtravaganza is one of the largest Show Choir competitions in the United States.  This year's competition featured 58 middle and high school groups who competed in front of a panel of five judges; and

     WHEREAS, "We are proud of all the hard work and dedication of our students and staff in Attaché," said Dr. Phillip Burchfield, Superintendent of the Clinton Public School District.  "We have a long tradition of excellence in our Show Choir, and its amazing to see that recognized on the national stage each year"; and

     WHEREAS, the 2013-2014 talented singers/dancers, pit and crew of Attaché are:  Singers/Dancers:  Drake Barrett, Sydney Boteler, Walker Clark, Casey Collier, Kyleigh Comley, Lea Cornelius, Haven Cox, Austin Crawford, Hayley DeYoung, Josey Kate Godfrey, Bridges Harrison, Cara Harrison, Claire Holmes, Maddie Howell, Lake Hutchison, Jana Ibale, Alex Jackson, Jerome Jones, Michael Leach, Morgan Leach, Ashton Lindsley, Elizabeth Lofton, Mason Mann, Granger Neblett, Jordan Newell, Carlee Perry, Jalin Ratcliff, Miranda Ray, Regan Ringler, Ryan Roberts, Drew Stanford, Ryan Saxton, Olivia Smith, Miles Thomas, Sydney Thomas, Christian Trejo, Jason Tullos, Azjah Watson, Sydney Wicks, Abigail Wilbanks, Lane Wilson and David Zhu; Pit:  Charmaine Beluso, Sean Borlin, Bailey Bynum, Daniel Conway, Brianna Cornelius, Jacob Dillard, Claire Everett, Jack Grogan, Kaylan Johnson, Rebecca Lee, Paden Pilgrim, Wimveraele Redd, Malorie Steen, Britton Upton, Riley Welch, Tucker Welch and Jennings Winstead; Crew:  Brooke Boteler, Ward Ellis, Brianna Ford, Bracey Godfrey, Deonte Griffin, Kayle Griffith, Aleila Harrell, Nikayla McClelland, Halle Nuckles, Hope Roberts and Edward Wiggins; and

     WHEREAS, it is with great pride that we recognize and commend the accomplishments of the students of this nationally and internationally known Show Choir which has brought honor to Clinton High School, the City of Clinton and the State of Mississippi:

     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES CONCURRING THEREIN, That we do hereby recognize and salute the Clinton High School Attaché Show Choir and Directors David and Mary Fehr for its Grand Champion victory and for its outstanding 2013-2014 competition season, and extend our best wishes to the students, directors, parents and sponsors of this award-winning choir in their future competitions.

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That this resolution be presented to the Clinton High School Attaché Show Choir, Directors David and Mary Fehr, and Principal Dr. Eddie J. Peasant, forwarded to the Clinton Municipal School Board, and made available to the Capitol Press Corps.
