AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE GOVERNING AUTHORITIES OF THE CITY OF GREENWOOD, MISSISSIPPI, TO DONATE THE KATRINA COTTAGES CONVEYED TO THE CITY IN 2011 BY THE MISSISSIPPI EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AGENCY TO THE GREENWOOD-LEFLORE FULLER CENTER FOR HOUSING, INC., A MISSISSIPPI NONPROFIT CORPORATION WHICH IS ENGAGED IN PROVIDING HOUSING TO LOW-INCOME, DISABLED AND ELDERLY RESIDENTS IN GREENWOOD; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

     SECTION 1.  The governing authorities of the City of Greenwood, Mississippi, are authorized and empowered, in their discretion, to donate the Katrina cottages conveyed to the city in 2011 by the Mississippi Emergency Management Agency to the Greenwood-Leflore Fuller Center for Housing, Inc., a Mississippi nonprofit corporation, which is engaged in providing housing to low-income, disabled and elderly residents in the Baptist Town Community in Greenwood and other Greenwood residents.

     SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
