Senate Bill 2344

AN ACT TO REPEAL SECTION 73-3-403, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, WHICH PROVIDES FOR THE REPEAL OF THE SECTIONS OF LAW WHICH CREATE THE MISSISSIPPI BAR AND THE STATE BOARD OF BAR COMMISSIONERS AND PRESCRIBE ITS DUTIES AND POWERS; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

SECTION 1. Section 73-3-403, Mississippi Code of 1972, which provides for the repeal as of December 31, 2015, of the sections of law which create The Mississippi Bar, prohibit attorney professional fee regulation by the Board of Bar Commissioners, and creates the State Board of Bar Commissioners and prescribe its duties and powers, those being Sections 73-3-101 through 73-3-145, 73-3-171 and 73-3-301 through 73-3-373, Mississippi Code of 1972, is repealed.
