AN ACT TO REQUIRE INDIVIDUALS ENGAGED IN PROCESSING WILD GAME TO RECOVER FROM THE DELIVERER OF THE WILD GAME FIFTY PERCENT OF THE COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH PREPARING THE WILD GAME FOR HUMAN CONSUMPTION AFTER NINETY DAYS OF THE ORIGINAL DATE OF DELIVERY; TO REQUIRE THE PROCESSING ESTABLISHMENT TO MAKE REASONABLE ATTEMPTS TO CONTACT THE OWNER OF THE WILD GAME TO COLLECT THE WILD GAME; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

     SECTION 1.  Any individual who engages in the act of operating an establishment for the processing of wild game for consumption shall recover, from the individual delivering the wild game to such establishment for processing, fifty percent (50%) of the processing fee for costs associated with preparing the wild game for human consumption if such wild game remains uncollected and unclaimed by the delivering individual after ninety (90) days of the original date of delivery.  The processing establishment shall make reasonable attempts to contact the owner of the wild game to collect the delivered game after the forty-fifth, sixtieth and ninetieth days the wild game remains uncollected and unclaimed.

     SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2014.
