A RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING MR. LEO ALLEN, SR., UPON THE OCCASION OF HIS RETIREMENT.

     WHEREAS, it is written in Ecclesiastes 3:1 that "To everything there is a season and a time for every purpose under the Heaven":  and as the season has come, Mr. Leo Allen, Sr., has beseeched the blessing of God and his family upon his decision to retire; and

     WHEREAS, a native of Itta Bena, Mississippi, and the second child of the late Mrs. Bessie Lee and Mr. Curtis Allen, Sr., Mr. Allen is the father of three children, Leo, Jr. (Stacy), De'Borah (Clarence) and Keturah; and he has five beautiful granddaughters, Sarita, Curtica, Leonora, Jamiya and Alannah; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Allen is a graduate of Leflore County High School, and he started working with his father part-time at the young age of 12; and

WHEREAS, upon reaching adulthood, he worked at the Itta Bena Building Supply for 20 years before moving to Mississippi Valley State University, where he has worked for the past 21 years; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Allen is also the owner and operator of Sunset Painting and Decorating; and

WHEREAS, he is a faithful member of New Green Grove Church of Faith under the leadership of Bishop Milton Glass, where he is a dedicated worker in the children's church, pastor's aide and Sunday School; and

WHEREAS, it is the policy of the House of Representatives to recognize such outstanding citizens as Mr. Allen, who has dedicated his career to serving his community and the State of Mississippi in numerous significant positions:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend and congratulate Mr. Leo Allen, Sr., on the occasion of his retirement and extend heartiest wishes for God's continuous blessings and success in all of his future endeavors.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to Mr. Leo Allen, Sr., and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
