A RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING KENTON THOMAS VAUGHN ON ACHIEVING THE HONOR OF THE EAGLE SCOUT AWARD AND BEING CELEBRATED AT THE DISTINGUISHED EAGLE COURT OF HONOR CEREMONY.
WHEREAS, Kenton Thomas Vaughn of Ackerman, Mississippi, and a member of the Pushmataha Area Council, Troop 41, will be honored with the Eagle Scout Award during the distinguished and time honored Eagle Court of Honor ceremony, held on February 23, 2014, at the Enon Cumberland Presbyterian Church of Ackerman; and
WHEREAS, this young man has been a scout for a number of years, and as evidenced by the receipt of the Eagle Scout honor, his list of community service and extracurricular activities indicates the achievements and the bright future that exist for this young Mississippian; and
WHEREAS, throughout his years as a Boy Scout, Kenton has fulfilled his duties and obligations of maintaining and promoting the mission and vision of the Boy Scouts of America by earning the required merit badges; and
WHEREAS, Kenton's Eagle Scout promotion was earned by completing a project at French Camp Academy, which was the construction of a walking bridge at Camp of the Rising Son, completed on September 5, 2012; and
WHEREAS, it is the policy of the House of Representatives to commend young Mississippians, such as Kenton Thomas Vaughn, who have attained scouting's highest rank and in doing so, bring honor to their family, school, community and the State of Mississippi:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend and congratulate Kenton Thomas Vaughn of Pushmataha Area Council, Troop 41, upon earning the Eagle Scout Award and extend sincere wishes for continued success in all of his future endeavors.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to Kenton Thomas Vaughn and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
