AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY OF POPLARVILLE, MISSISSIPPI, TO ALLOW RENT FREE USE OF CERTAIN SURPLUS CITY-OWNED OFFICE SPACE BY THE POPLARVILLE HISTORICAL PRESERVATION SOCIETY, A MISSISSIPPI NONPROFIT CORPORATION; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

     SECTION 1.  The governing authorities of the City of Poplarville, Mississippi, in their discretion, may allow the Poplarville Historical Preservation Society, a Mississippi nonprofit corporation, the rent free use of certain city-owned office space contained in a building located at 101 North Main Street in the City of Poplarville, Mississippi, which space is not presently used or needed for municipal purposes.  The Poplarville Historical Preservation Society is involved in activities which promote and foster the development and improvement of the City of Poplarville, Mississippi, and the civic, educational, cultural, moral, economic and industrial welfare of the city.  The office space is for use by the Poplarville Historical Preservation Society in the conduct of its activities and to hold various meetings.  The use and occupancy shall be for such period or periods of time and upon such other terms and conditions as may be determined by the governing authorities of the City of Poplarville, Mississippi.

     SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
