A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING AND EXTENDING BIRTHDAY GREETINGS TO BISHOP RONNIE C. CRUDUP AND JACQUELINE CRUDUP FOR 35 YEARS OF FAITHFUL MINISTRY AND LEADERSHIP AT THE NEW HORIZON CHURCH INTERNATIONAL HONOR CELEBRATION.

     WHEREAS, New Horizon Church International (NHCI) will host an evening of honor for Bishop Ronnie C. Crudup, Sr., on June 28, 2013, at the Jackson Convention Complex.  Bishop Crudup will be honored with a roast to celebrate 35 years of faithful ministry, including the 26th Founding Anniversary of NHCI, and his 60th birthday and Mrs. Crudup's 61st birthday.  The night will be filled with fun and laughter, and is a part of the Annual Bishop's Ball.  Dr. John Perkins, Mr. Leland Speed and Dr. Dolphus Weary will be guest speakers; and

     WHEREAS, Ronnie C. Crudup, Sr., is the Administrative Bishop for the Fellowship of International Churches.  He is also Senior Pastor of New Horizon Church International, an exciting and rapidly growing church in Jackson, Mississippi, which he founded in 1987.  He is highly regarded as a compassionate pastor, prolific Bible teacher, dynamic preacher, and visionary leader who proclaims a message of consecration and empowerment to the masses and gives practical steps on how to fulfill one's divine calling and destiny in Christ; and

     WHEREAS, Bishop Crudup earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Jackson State University and a Master of Divinity degree from Reformed Theological Seminary.  He is the Founder and President of New Horizon Ministries, Inc., a nonprofit organization that operates five community-based programs throughout the City of Jackson, the We Make It Better Foundation, and Ekklesia School of Ministry and Theology; and

     WHEREAS, as Co-Founder and CEO of the Mississippi Faith-Based Coalition for Community Renewal and Chairman of the Jackson Redevelopment Authority, he also serves on the boards of numerous local, state and national community development organizations.  These include:  100 Concerned Clergy of Jackson, Transformation Jackson, Central Mississippi Medical Center, Working Together Jackson, The Hope/Enterprise Corporation, and Telos; and

     WHEREAS, Bishop Crudup is known to be a man of great faith who is on the move for the Lord.  He is a frequent speaker in schools, churches and prisons across the country.  He is host of "New Horizon Presents" and "The Issues," a television broadcast ministry and is passionately involved in international missions in Malawi, South Africa and Zambia.  Countless thousands know him by his signature statement, "To Count It All Joy"; and

     WHEREAS, Bishop Crudup and his wife, the former Jacqueline J. Frazier, have been married for over 38 years.  They are the proud parents of 4 children:  Ronnie, Jr., Nadia, Hillman and Arlintha.  They have 6 grandchildren:  Amari, Ayinde, Nya, Isaac, Robin and Ronit; and

     WHEREAS, it is with great pride that we join the New Horizon Church International Congregation in paying tribute to these most public spirited citizens of Mississippi:

     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES CONCURRING THEREIN, That we recognize and extend birthday greetings to Bishop Ronnie C. Crudup and his wife, Jacqueline Frazier Crudup, for 35 years of faithful ministry and leadership at the New Horizon Church International (NHCI) Celebration in their honor on June 28, 2013.

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That this resolution be presented to Bishop Ronnie C. Crudup and Jacqueline Crudup and be made available to the Capitol Press.
