Senate Bill 2573

AN ACT TO CREATE A LOCAL ONE-STOP LICENSING FOR STATE AGENCY LICENSES; TO PROVIDE THAT THE BOARDS OF SUPERVISORS MAY PROVIDE A CENTRALIZED LOCATION FOR CITIZENS TO OBTAIN STATE LICENSES AND PERMITS; TO REQUIRE STATE AGENCIES TO DEVELOP A ONE-STOP PROGRAM; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

SECTION 1. (1) The boards of supervisors may provide one centralized local location for citizens to obtain or renew licenses and permits from state agencies.

(2) Each state agency shall develop simple application forms to obtain and renew licenses and permits and provide copies of the forms to the county. Each agency shall also provide for completion of the application and purchase of the licenses and permits on a website.

(3) The Department of Finance and Administration shall assist state agencies in developing simplified and generally accessible websites at the local locations.

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2013.
