A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING THE SERVICE OF KENNETH (TREY) CRAWFORD III OF LAUREL, MISSISSIPPI, AS CHAIRMAN OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE MISSISSIPPI INDEPENDENT PHARMACIES ASSOCIATION.

     WHEREAS, Kenneth E. (Trey) Crawford III, of Laurel, Mississippi, is completing his term of office as Chairman of the Board of the Mississippi Independent Pharmacies Association (2010-2012).  Trey has been a dedicated and influential member of this board, and previously served as Vice Chairman (2008-2012); and

     WHEREAS, Trey is a registered Pharmacist in Mississippi, certified in NIPCO and the Diabetic Care Certificate Program.  His experience includes work at Super D Drugs from 1996-1997, Eckerd's Drugs from 1997-2001 and Diket Drugs in Laurel from 2001 to the present.  He is a graduate of the University of Mississippi School of Pharmacy (1996) and attended Jones County Junior College and William Carey College; and

     WHEREAS, his professional memberships and community service include the following:

     ·  Kappa Psi, President, 1996; Vice President, 1995

     Certifications:

     ·  NIPCO, Accredited Diabetic Care Certificate Program

     ·  Professional/Community Service:

     ·  Board member, M.I.P.A. Mississippi Independent Pharmacies Association

     ·  HOSA Judge Council

     ·  Mentor — Jones County Junior College Pharmacy Tech Program

     ·  Taylorsville First Baptist Church, Sunday School Leader

     ·  Kiwanis Leader

     ·  Kindergarten Advisory Board

     ·  Featured in the article "Pass It Forward" in America's Pharmacist Magazine in March 2008

     ·  Dixie Youth Baseball Coach for seven years; board member for three years and served as League President in 2011, traveled to North Carolina to bid on 2013 World Series and won the bid for the Laurel Dixie Youth to host the 2013 World Series

     ·  Current coach of the 11-year-old travel baseball team — Jones County elite

     St. Johns Day School board member; and

     WHEREAS, it is with great pride that we note the civic and professional contributions of this Mississippi pharmacist who has brought honor to his family, his community, his profession and to the State of Mississippi:

     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES CONCURRING THEREIN, That we do hereby recognize the service of Kenneth (Trey) Crawford III of Laurel, Mississippi, and extend our best wishes to Trey and his family for future successes.

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That this resolution be presented to Trey Crawford, forwarded to the Board of M.I.P.A., and made available to the Capitol Press Corps.
