A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING AND CONGRATULATING GREG MCNEELY OF CLINTON, MISSISSIPPI, UPON HIS SELECTION AS 2011-2012 CHAIRMAN OF THE MISSISSIPPI MANUFACTURERS ASSOCIATION.

     WHEREAS, Greg McNeely of Clinton, Mississippi, has been named 2011-2012 Chairman of the Mississippi Manufacturers Association.  Mr. McNeely is President and co-owner of McNeely Plastics, Inc., in Clinton; and

     WHEREAS, McNeely has served on the Mississippi Manufacturers Association Board of Directors since 2002.  He also serves on the Board of Directors of the Harbor House Chemical Dependency Center and is an active member of the Flexible Packaging Association, Society of the Plastics Industry, and the Film and Bag Federation.  He serves on the Advisory Councils of the Mississippi Department of Employment Security and Blueprint Mississippi, where he also served as Chairman of a Subcommittee on Technology Commercialization; and

     WHEREAS, "It will be my honor to assume the position of Chairman of MMA," said McNeely.  "Manufacturing is being challenged in these difficult times, but it will continue, in my estimation, to be the bedrock of our nation's economy.  This year will be filled with new opportunities"; and

     WHEREAS, McNeely graduated Magna Cum Laude from Millsaps College, where he received a Bachelor of Business Administration with a minor in economics and received membership into Omicron Delta Epsilon, an international economics honor society.  McNeely is a resident of Clinton, where he lives with his wife, Debbie, and their two children, Jacob and Emily.  They attend Pinelake Church in Brandon; and

     WHEREAS, in addition to McNeely, other members of the MMA Executive Committee are as follows:  Chairman-elect Bryan Hawkins, President of Hawkeye Industries, Tupelo; Vice Chairman Johnny Atherton, Vice President for External Affairs of Mississippi Power Company, Gulfport; Secretary-Treasurer Trent Mulloy, President of Laurel Machine & Foundry Company, Laurel; immediate past Chairman Lex Taylor, Chairman and CEO of The Taylor Group, Inc., and President of Taylor Machine Works, Inc., Louisville; and MMA President and CEO Jay C. Moon, CEcD, FM.  MMA Board Members include:  District 1 - Jimmy Tatum, Roseburg Forest Products, Oxford; District 3 - Charles Thomas III, Shuqualak Lumber Company, Shuqualak, and Earl Walker, American Eurocopter, Starkville; District 5 - Harry Simmons, Jr., Simmons Farm Raised Catfish, Yazoo City; District 7 - Scott Gipson, Gipson Steel, Inc., Meridian, and Don Mather, La-Z-Boy South, Newton; and District 9 - Bruce Reynolds, Monticello Tire & Timber, Monticello; and

     WHEREAS, it is with pride that we recognize this Mississippi citizen who is held in high esteem by his fellow businessmen:

     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES CONCURRING THEREIN, That we do hereby commend and congratulate Greg McNeely of Clinton, Mississippi, upon his selection as 2011-2012 Chairman of the Mississippi Manufacturers Association and extend to him and his family our best wishes.

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That this resolution be presented to Greg McNeely, forwarded to the Board of Directors of the Mississippi Manufacturers Association, and made available to the Capitol Press Corps.
