AN ACT TO RATIFY AND CONFIRM THAT CERTAIN AGREEMENTS EXECUTED BY THE CURRENT GOVERNING AUTHORITIES OF THE CITY OF HATTIESBURG, MISSISSIPPI, THAT ARE MANDATED BY A GRANT AGREEMENT ENTERED INTO BETWEEN THE CITY AND THE MISSISSIPPI DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY, ARE BINDING UPON SUCCESSOR GOVERNING AUTHORITIES OF THE CITY; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

SECTION 1. The authority of the governing authorities of the City of Hattiesburg, Mississippi, to bind successor governing authorities of the City of Hattiesburg by execution of one or more agreements that extend beyond the term of the current governing authorities when the agreements are made by the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development under a federal program that is administered by the Mississippi Development Authority, and when the agreements are mandated by the grant agreement entered into between the City of Hattiesburg and the Mississippi Development Authority, is ratified and confirmed.

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
