House Resolution 90

A RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING PRINCIPAL WILLIAM HELLER OF ST. JOSEPH CATHOLIC SCHOOL IN MADISON, MISSISSIPPI, UPON THE OCCASION OF HIS RETIREMENT AFTER 12 YEARS OF FAITHFUL SERVICE.

     WHEREAS, Principal William Heller of St. Joseph Catholic School in Madison, Mississippi, has announced his retirement after 12 years of dedicated service to its faculty, staff and students; and

     WHEREAS, Principal Heller has fostered a strong reputation for extracurricular activities and athletics and he has instilled a compassion for education in the faculty, staff and students at St. Joseph Catholic School; and

     WHEREAS, under the guidance of Principal Heller, the enrollment of St. Joseph Catholic School has more than doubled, growing from 200 to 460; and

     WHEREAS, as a supporter of the arts, Principal Heller encouraged the building of the Fine Arts Center, and the band and choir memberships have grown immensely under his leadership; and

     WHEREAS, Principal Heller guided St. Joseph Catholic School in creating a separate building from the senior high school to house middle school Grades 7 and 8; and

     WHEREAS, for the past two years, St. Joseph Catholic School was named an All-2A Sports winner, and as a history and humanities teacher, Principal Heller was chosen as a STAR Teacher by his STAR Student, Alex Rueff; and

     WHEREAS, it is the policy of the House of Representatives to recognize and commend the outstanding educators and leaders of the schools of this great state, such as Principal Heller, who dedicate their lives and time to the youth of our state, who are its future:

     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend and congratulate Principal William Heller upon the occasion of his retirement after 12 years of dedicated service as the Principal of St. Joseph Catholic School and extend best wishes for continued good health and happiness as he enjoys the lighter years of his retirement.

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to Principal Heller and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
