A RESOLUTION COMMENDING MR. ED ALLEGRETTI ON HIS OUTSTANDING CIVIC AND COMMUNITY SERVICE AND ACKNOWLEDGING HIS DEDICATION TO HIS COMMUNITY AND THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI.
WHEREAS, Mr. Ed Allegretti, a benevolent public servant, will celebrate the occasion of his 50th birthday on January 28, 2012, with friends and family; and
WHEREAS, born to Colonel and Mrs. John Allegretti, of Laurel, Mississippi, and married to Connie Anderson Allegretti, Mr. Allegretti has donated much of his spare time to enriching his community through dedicated service; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Allegretti is a 1984 graduate of San Jose State University and currently owns and operates Pendorff Manor Properties and Stables; and
WHEREAS, through serving on the board of directors and as a past president of the Jones County Property Owners/Landlords Association and as the founder and President of Pendorff Community Association, Mr. Allegretti has shown commitment to his local community; and
WHEREAS, committed to his political party, Mr. Allegretti has served on the Jones County Republican Party Executive Committee, served as the chairman and past delegate to the county convention of the Pendorff Precinct Caucus of the Republican Party and has served as the Public Relations Officer of the Jones County Republican Club; and
WHEREAS, a tennis enthusiast, Mr. Allegretti has served as second vice president and past secretary of the Laurel Country Club Tennis Association and as a member of the Pine Belt Area United States Tennis Association Grievance Committee; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Allegretti formed the Pine Belt Ballroom Dance Association, where he currently serves as president, and was an active member of the Board of Directors of the Laurel Community Concert Association, and he sometimes serves as a guest columnist for the Laurel Leader Call and the Review of Jones County; and
WHEREAS, ever dedicated to his heritage, Mr. Allegretti has been an active member of the Laurel Sons of the American Revolution, serving as chapter president and vice president, as well as the Jones County Sons of Confederate Veterans, where he has served as second lieutenant and now first lieutenant commander, and he was a sponsor of the Laurel Southern Heritage Conference; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Allegretti is a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church, where he is also a Sunday School teacher; and
WHEREAS, it is the policy of the House of Representatives to recognize the efforts of individuals such as Mr. Allegretti, whose dedication to service is representative of his public spirit and selflessness:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend Mr. Ed Allegretti upon the occasion of his 50th birthday for his outstanding dedication to community and civic service and extend best wishes for continued success in all of his future endeavors.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to Mr. Allegretti and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
