A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION COMMENDING THE DEDICATION AND SERVICE OF ADRIAN GRICE UPON HIS RETIREMENT AS EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF THE MISSISSIPPI VETERANS AFFAIRS BOARD.

     WHEREAS, Mr. Adrian Grice has retired after over 40 years of honorable and faithful service to the United States of America and the State of Mississippi; and

     WHEREAS, Mr. Grice has been a tireless advocate for and servant of the Military Veterans of Mississippi; and

     WHEREAS, Mr. Grice is a Vietnam era Veteran of the United States Navy, Veteran of the United States Naval Reserve and a Veteran of the Mississippi Air National Guard; and

     WHEREAS, Mr. Grice has served as Executive Director, Deputy Director, Claims Division Director and Veterans Service Officer with the Mississippi Veterans Affairs Board and Program Coordinator and Social Worker with the Mississippi Department of Mental Health; and

     WHEREAS, Mr. Grice earned a masters of public administration from the University of Mississippi and a bachelors of science from the University of Southern Mississippi; and

     WHEREAS, Mr. Grice was instrumental in securing legislation authorizing the development and construction of the Mississippi Veterans Memorial Cemetery and the Mississippi Persian Gulf War Memorial; and

     WHEREAS, Mr. Grice has worked tirelessly to ensure that Mississippi's Veterans receive the best possible care at the Collins, Jackson, Kosciusko and Oxford State Veterans Nursing Homes; and

     WHEREAS, Mr. Grice put a positive framework in place that ensured the Mississippi Veterans Affairs Board was in the best fiscal position in its history and for the future; and

     WHEREAS, Mr. Grice continues to serve tirelessly throughout the State of Mississippi and in his community in Scott County, Mississippi; and

     WHEREAS, it is the policy of this Legislature to commend the dedication and service of citizens of this state, such as Mr. Grice, who work tirelessly to ensure that our honored Veterans will have a pleasurable and secure future in Mississippi:

     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES, THE SENATE CONCURRING THEREIN, That we do hereby commend Mr. Adrian Grice for his commitment and service to the citizens of Mississippi and extend sincerest congratulations to him upon the occasion of his retirement.

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to Mr. Grice and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
