Senate Concurrent Resolution 626

A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING AND COMMENDING JERAMEY ANDERSON AS THE 2010 BOYS AND GIRLS CLUBS "YOUTH OF THE YEAR" RECIPIENT FOR JACKSON COUNTY.

     WHEREAS, Jeramey Dewayne Anderson, age 19, attended and graduated from Moss Point High School with a 3.6 GPA; and

     WHEREAS; Jeramey was named the 2010 "Youth of the Year" for the Boys and Girls Clubs of Jackson County and 1st Runner-Up for the State of Mississippi; and

     WHEREAS, he was elected Sophomore, Junior and Senior Class President, and was published in Who's Who Among Outstanding American Students his 9th Grade Year; and

     WHEREAS, Jeramey assisted in planning the annual Walk Against Violence in Moss Point; and

     WHEREAS, the award commends Jeramey for creating a fund-raiser for the Boys and Girls Clubs to benefit earthquake victims in Haiti, which was named "Hearts for Haiti" which sent over $500.00 to the victims in Haiti with the help of the members at the Boys and Girls Clubs of Jackson County; and

     WHEREAS, Jeramey was elected 2007, 2008 and 2009 Purple Knights of Jackson County Youth Auxiliary President; and

     WHEREAS, Jeramey was named Moss Point High School Student of the Month two months in a row and he was elected 2009 Mississippi Boys State Lieutenant Governor; and

     WHEREAS, Jeramey now attends Pearl River Community College in Poplarville, Mississippi, and is majoring in Criminal Law with a minor in Business Administration.  He plans to return to the City of Moss Point after college and would like to enter a career in politics and serve as Mayor of Moss Point, then Lieutenant Governor and Governor of Mississippi.  He plans to work as a Threat Analyst for the FBI Terrorist Division and serve as an FBI Chief Administrator; and

     WHEREAS, the Boys and Girls Club made a tremendous impact on Jeramey's life and the annual "Youth of the Year" program highlighted Jeramey's leadership skills, accomplishment; and

     WHEREAS, Jeramey is a spokesman in his words and his deeds for the Boys and Girls Clubs of Mississippi, and it is with pride that we acknowledge this dedicated Mississippi student whose civic contributions have brought honor to his community and to the State of Mississippi:

     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES CONCURRING THEREIN, That we do hereby recognize Jeramey Dewayne Anderson, commend the Mississippi Alliance for Boys and Girls Clubs for its annual "Youth of the Year" program, and extend our best wishes to Jeramey and his family on this occasion.

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That this resolution be presented to Jeramey Anderson, forwarded to the Boys and Girls Clubs of Jackson County, and made available to the Capitol Press Corps.
