Senate Bill 2896

AN ACT TO DESIGNATE A CERTAIN SEGMENT OF U.S. HIGHWAY 78 WITHIN MISSISSIPPI AS THE "WILLIAM R. 'BILL' MINOR MEMORIAL HIGHWAY"; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

     SECTION 1.  (1)  That segment of U.S. Highway 78 beginning at the Marshall/Desoto county line and extending to the Benton/Union county line shall be known and designated as "William R. 'Bill' Minor Memorial Highway."

     (2)  The Mississippi Department of Transportation shall erect and maintain appropriate signs along and approaching the highway.

     SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2011.
