House Resolution 36

(As Adopted by House)

A RESOLUTION COMMENDING THE LIFE OF EUGENE COLEMAN "BOOSIE" ROBERTS, JR., AND EXPRESSING DEEPEST SYMPATHY TO HIS FAMILY AND FRIENDS UPON HIS PASSING.

WHEREAS, Eugene Coleman "Boosie" Roberts, Jr., born on September 13, 1988, to Tammy Roberts and Eugene Coleman, Sr., departed this earthly life on Tuesday, February 15, 2011, at the age of 22 years, to enter into eternal rest with his Heavenly Father, rendering great sorrow and loss to his family and friends; and

WHEREAS, an individual possessing all the qualities for a promising future of great success, Eugene was a graduate of Provine High School, was a student at Hinds Community College, and had formerly served, during his high school years as a Legislative Page for Representative Credell Calhoun, of House District 68; and

WHEREAS, while his life upon this earth was short-lived, it nevertheless has a far-reaching impact upon the lives of all who personally knew him and were afforded the opportunity to make his acquaintance; and

WHEREAS, having a great rapport with his friends, Roberts was well-known and liked within his neighborhood, and his sudden passing marks the expiration of life of great potential before its benefit could be shared with the world; and

WHEREAS, though he has transitioned to a land of great reward, as he has traversed the river of life to study the wars of life's trials, triumphs and circumstances no more, the legacy of his memory will continue to be cherished by his loving survivors, including:  mother, Tammy Roberts; sister, Krystie Roberts; brothers, Jeremanie Roberts, Timmie Roberts, Jeremy Roberts, Braylon Hutton and Colandus Hutton; grandmother, Thelma Roberts; five aunts and uncles; and a host of other relatives and friends; and

WHEREAS, it is the policy of the House of Representatives to commend the life of such a young individual whose life was prematurely shortened, but had lasting effect on those he touched, as we remind the family that, "To every [thing there is] a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven," as prophetically written in Ecclesiastes 3:1:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend the life of Eugene Coleman Roberts, Jr., and express deepest sympathy to his family and friends upon his passing.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to the family of Mr. Roberts and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
