House Concurrent Resolution 62

A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING THE OCEAN SPRINGS HIGH SCHOOL GREYHOUNDS TENNIS TEAM FOR THEIR OUTSTANDING 2010 SEASON AND FOR WINNING THE CLASS 6A STATE TENNIS CHAMPIONSHIP.

WHEREAS, the Ocean Springs High School Greyhounds Tennis Team finished the 2010 season with an outstanding record of 15 wins and no losses; and

WHEREAS, the Greyhounds did very well in tournament play this year, winning the Class 6A State Tennis Championship; and

WHEREAS, the Ocean Springs High School Tennis Team is comprised of the following members: Andrew Wawryszczuk, Ian Render, Julia Ivanova, Alex Wawryszczuk, Ducky Troutman, Brooks Marion, Anna Myers, Tori Calcote, Sadie St. Amant, Kelly Kohler, Sanders Edmonson, Jack Wilson, Skyler Flowers, Anna Pol, David Bella, Madeline Wilburn, Anna O'Conner, Wes Rodberg, Andrew Rigsley, Ali Siddiqi, Jessica Williams, John Thomas McCarthy, Sarah Brouckgert and Karla McCarthy; and

WHEREAS, the Greyhounds have been superbly coached and inspired by Head Coach Kathy Gendron, who has broadened the players' knowledge of the game and refined their skills in execution; and

WHEREAS, the Greyhounds have developed a winning and cooperative spirit and a high degree of sportsmanship, and their activities and attitude reflect great credit upon the individual players and their coach and bring honor to Ocean Springs High School; and

WHEREAS, it is the policy of this Legislature to recognize and commend excellence, especially when evidenced by the youth of our state, who are its future:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, THE SENATE CONCURRING THEREIN, That we do hereby commend and congratulate the Ocean Springs High School Greyhounds Tennis Team and their coach, Head Coach Kathy Gendron, for their outstanding 2010 season, for winning the class 6A State Tennis Championship and for displaying tireless devotion to their athletic endeavors.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to Ocean Springs High School, Head Coach Kathy Gendron and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
