AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION 67-3-25, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, TO AUTHORIZE THE COMMISSIONER OF REVENUE TO ESTABLISH DATES FOR THE EXPIRATION OF PERMITS ISSUED UNDER THE LAWS GOVERNING THE MANUFACTURE AND SALE OF LIGHT WINE AND BEER; TO AUTHORIZE THE COMMISSIONER OF REVENUE TO ISSUE TEMPORARY PERMITS UNDER THE LAWS GOVERNING THE SALE OF LIGHT WINE OR BEER; TO PROVIDE THAT SUCH PERMITS SHALL CONTAIN CERTAIN INFORMATION; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

     SECTION 1.  Section 67-3-25, Mississippi Code of 1972, is amended as follows:

     67-3-25.  (1)  Any permit issued authorizing the sale of light wines and/or beer for consumption shall be construed to authorize the sale of * * * light wines and/or beer by the bottle, by the glass or by draught, and in or from the original package.

     (2)  The commissioner is authorized to establish, in his discretion, dates for the expiration of permits issued under this chapter.

     (3)  Except as otherwise provided in this section, permits shall be issued for twelve (12) months and shall be renewed annually * * * on the first day of the * * * month in which the permit expiresThe commissioner may issue temporary permits for less than a full year.  All permits shall show the effective date and expiration date of the permit, the business location, individual or business name and mailing address of the permittee.

     SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2011.
