House Bill 94

AN ACT TO PROVIDE PENALTIES FOR ANY VIOLATIONS OF THE RULES, ORDINANCES OR REGULATIONS CREATED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF ANY WATER, SEWER, GARBAGE DISPOSAL OR FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

     SECTION 1.  Any person who violates any of the rules, ordinances or regulations promulgated by the board of commissioners of districts created pursuant to Sections 19-5-151 through 19-5-207 shall, upon conviction, be guilty of a misdemeanor, and be punished by a fine of not less than Fifty Dollars ($50.00) nor more than One Hundred Dollars ($100.00) for the first violation, and not less than Two Hundred Dollars ($200.00) nor more than Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00) for each subsequent violation.

     SECTION 2.  Section 1 of this act shall be codified as a separate code section within Chapter 5, Title 19, Mississippi Code of 1972.

     SECTION 3.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2011.
