A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING AND COMMENDING THE GLOBAL LEADERSHIP INSTITUTE AT JACKSON PREPARATORY SCHOOL AS AN INSTITUTION THAT PROMOTES AND ENCOURAGES STUDENT LEADERSHIP.
WHEREAS, the Global Leadership Institute at Jackson Preparatory School exists to encourage the personal growth and development of leadership skills in students; and
WHEREAS, students develop habits during their teenage years that accompany them throughout their lifetime; and
WHEREAS, by participating in the Institute, students will be challenged to look inwardly to discover important truths about their giftedness, nature and personality; and
WHEREAS, students will also be challenged to look beyond themselves to discover ways they can make a difference in their community and world at large; and
WHEREAS, leaders shape our world in every conceivable way. At Jackson Prep, the goal is to prepare young people for lives of distinction as world-class leaders. The Global Leadership Institute, under the talented direction of Cindy Townsend, is setting the standard for leadership development among secondary schools in Mississippi; and
WHEREAS, it is with great pride that we recognize this outstanding school which is giving its students this opportunity to promote and encourage leadership principles:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES CONCURRING THEREIN, That we do hereby recognize and commend the Global Leadership Institute at Jackson Preparatory School as an institution that promotes and encourages leadership principles and encourages the personal growth and development of leadership skills in students, and extend our best wishes for the future success of this program.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That this resolution be presented to Head of School Susan Lindsay and the Board of Trustees of Jackson Preparatory School and Cindy Townsend, Director of Global Leadership Institute, and made available to the Capitol Press Corps.
