A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION TO PROHIBIT THE RELOCATION OF ANY STATE AGENCY LOCATED WITHIN THE COUNTY WHEREIN THE STATE CAPITOL IS LOCATED TO ANY SITE OUTSIDE SUCH COUNTY; TO DIRECT THE PEER COMMITTEE TO CONDUCT A STUDY AND ESTABLISH GUIDELINES REGARDING OFFICE SPACE IN HINDS COUNTY; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES CONCURRING THEREIN, That beginning on the date of adoption of this concurrent resolution, the Department of Finance and Administration, including the Public Procurement Review Board, shall prohibit the relocation of any state agency currently located within the county wherein the State Capitol is located to any site outside such county.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That the Joint Legislative Committee on Performance Evaluation and Expenditure Review (PEER) is directed to conduct a study and establish guidelines for the development of a policy regarding the state's approach to the location and utilization of office space within Hinds County, Mississippi, and make a report thereon to the Legislature on or before January 1, 2011.
