Senate Bill 3010

AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE COMMISSION ON WILDLIFE, FISHERIES AND PARKS AND THE COMMISSION ON MARINE RESOURCES TO ISSUE AN ANNUAL GROUP PIER FISHING LICENSE; TO ESTABLISH THE FEE FOR SUCH LICENSE; TO PROVIDE THAT PERSONS FISHING FROM SUCH PIERS ARE NOT REQUIRED TO PURCHASE AN INDIVIDUAL FISHING LICENSE; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

SECTION 1. (1) The Commission on Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks and the Commission on Marine Resources may issue a three-day group pier fishing license. The owner of a pier in public or private waters may obtain an annual group pier fishing license for a fee of Twenty-five Dollars ($25.00). A person shall not be required to purchase or have in his possession an individual resident or nonresident fishing license while fishing from a licensed pier with the permission of the owner of the licensed pier.

(2) The owner of the pier shall notify the appropriate commission of the dates that he will use the permit.

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2010.
