AN ACT TO REPEAL SECTIONS 63-13-1 THROUGH 63-13-29, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, WHICH CONSTITUTE THE MISSISSIPPI MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY INSPECTION LAW; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:
SECTION 1. Section 63-13-1, Mississippi Code of 1972, which names the Mississippi Motor Vehicle Safety Inspection Law, Section 63-13-3, Mississippi Code of 1972, which prohibits operation of a motor vehicle that is unsafe, Section 63-13-5, Mississippi Code of 1972, which creates the motor vehicle inspection department, Section 63-13-7, Mississippi Code of 1972, which requires periodic inspection and approval of motor vehicles, Section 63-13-8, Mississippi Code of 1972, which provides a grace period for obtaining a valid inspection sticker, Section 63-13-9, Mississippi Code of 1972, which provides for certification of certain mechanisms of vehicles, Section 63-13-11, Mississippi Code of 1972, which provides for inspection fees and disposition of fund, Section 63-13-13, Mississippi Code of 1972, which prohibits issuance of a false certificate, Section 63-13-15, Mississippi Code of 1972, which provides for licensing of official inspection stations, Section 63-13-17, Mississippi Code of 1972, which prohibits improper representation as an inspection station, Section 63-13-19, Mississippi Code of 1972, which provides for inspections by dealers, Section 63-13-21, Mississippi Code of 1972, which provides for a highway inspection by the Mississippi Highway Safety Patrol, Section 63-13-23, Mississippi Code of 1972, which specifies the manner of correction of defects, Section 63-13-25, Mississippi Code of 1972, which specifies the effect of an inspection certificate, Section 63-13-27, Mississippi Code of 1972, which provides for the administration of the provisions of the chapter, and Section 63-13-29, Mississippi Code of 1972, which provides penalties for violations, are repealed.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2010.
