     A RESOLUTION COMMENDING THE LIFE AND LEGACY OF MRS. MARY ANN WILLIAMS NAVE AND EXPRESSING SYMPATHY UPON HER PASSING.

     WHEREAS, Mrs. Mary Ann Williams Nave, born as Mary Ann Williams to the union of John and Mollie Esther Williams on November 2, 1915, departed this life on April 20, 2010; and

     WHEREAS, having accepted Jesus Christ early in life and united with First Running Water Missionary Baptist Church on October 5, 1930, she continuously exercised her faith and commitment to the body of Christ by serving as Sunday School Teacher, Missionary Society President, choir member, and Mother Board member; and

     WHEREAS, love found its place in her life when she met and married Matthew Nave, Sr., on January 30, 1938; and

     WHEREAS, this blissful couple enjoyed parenting eight children, and basking in 72 years of holy matrimony that was filled with all the love from which a blessed union benefits; and

     WHEREAS, to cherish her beautiful memory and the many memories they shared, she leaves her husband, Matthew; and

     WHEREAS, to carry on the legacy of love and nurturing that she had shown them in their lives, she leaves seven children:  Matthew, Johnie, Mollie, Juanita, DeBerne, William and Chalfin; and

     WHEREAS, it is the policy of the House of Representatives to recognize the life contributions of a fine Mississippian, such as Mary Ann Nave, who has worked hard for her family and the community:

     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend the life and legacy of Mrs. Mary Ann Williams Nave and express deepest sympathy to her family and friends upon her passing.

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to the family of Mary Ann Williams Nave and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
