A RESOLUTION COMMENDING THE LIFE AND LEGACY OF TIFFANY MARTIN MCLAIN AND EXPRESSING DEEPEST SYMPATHY TO HER FAMILY AND FRIENDS UPON HER PASSING.

     WHEREAS, Tiffany Martin McLain, age 39, the daughter of T. and Carolyn Martin, was born in Vicksburg, Mississippi, and departed this earthly life on February 16, 2010, to enter into eternal rest with her Heavenly Father, causing great sorrow and loss to her family and friends; and

     WHEREAS, having an understanding of the importance of education as a youth, Mrs. McLain excelled in the classroom as a youth and young adult, graduating from Clinton High School and eventually receiving a master's degree in counseling from Mississippi State University; and

     WHEREAS, possessing a heart for the youth of this state who suffer from alcoholism and drug addiction, Mrs. McLain's career as a licensed professional counselor included three years as the Madison County Youth Drug Court Coordinator before going to Leake County to help establish its youth drug court program, that was founded in August 2009; and

     WHEREAS, a member of the Methodist faith, Mrs. McLain was steadfast in her zealous commitment to those under her instruction and supervision, and premised her life, career and service on helping counsel troubled youth into successful citizens; and

     WHEREAS, Mrs. McLain was involved in many community and service activities throughout her life, including striving to effectuate positive change through her contributions as a board member of the National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence of the Central Mississippi Area; and

     WHEREAS, though she has traversed the river of life to now stand on golden heavenly shores, the legacy of her memory will continue in the lives of her husband, Bill McLain; two sisters, Shelly Gilbrech and Margaret Olander; parents, T. and Carolyn Martin; maternal grandmother, Wanna W. Seay; numerous youth in Madison and Leake Counties and all other family and friends whose lives she touched; and

     WHEREAS, it is the policy of the House of Representatives to commend the life of such a truly remarkable and giving individual as Tiffany Martin McLain:

     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend the life and legacy of Tiffany Martin McLain and express deepest sympathy to her family and friends upon her passing.

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to the family of Mrs. McLain and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
