House Bill 1747

AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE GOVERNING AUTHORITIES OF THE TOWN OF GLENDORA, MISSISSIPPI, TO DESIGNATE THE TOWN AS A QUALIFIED RESORT AREA FOR PURPOSES OF THE LOCAL OPTION ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGE CONTROL LAW; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

     SECTION 1.  (1)  The governing authorities of the Town of Glendora, Mississippi, may, in their discretion, designate the town as a qualified resort area for the purposes of Section 67-1-1 et seq., Mississippi Code of 1972.  

     (2)  The designation of the Town of Glendora as a qualified resort area under this section shall not require any declaration of such designation by the Mississippi State Tax Commission.

     SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
