Senate Resolution 22

A RESOLUTION CONGRATULATING THE NEW SITE HIGH SCHOOL "CLASS OF 1958" ON THE OCCASION OF THEIR 50TH CLASS REUNION.

WHEREAS, the New Site High School, New Site, Mississippi, "Class of 1958" will celebrate a landmark 50th Class Reunion on April 19, 2008, in Booneville, Mississippi; and

WHEREAS, the graduates of the New Site High School, Class of 1958, are successful citizens who have been recognized in many areas of life: business, education and other professional pursuits. The civic contributions of these graduates have made a positive impact on our society; and

WHEREAS, there were 24 class members, 3 of whom are now deceased; and

WHEREAS, the class roster is as follows: Charles Houston (deceased), Patsy McCombs Long (deceased), Paul Wade Sparks (deceased), Reba Adam Urban, Wade Ashmore, Martha Moore Barnes, Sammie Benjamin Wilemon, Lynda Bennett Wildmon, Betty Birmingham Cleveland, Barbara Ferguson Reich, Donnie Holley, Emmalene Holley Harris, Wilhelmenia Horn Butler, Bobbie Jean Johnson Wilemon, James L. Lindsey, Betty Grace Sparks McKinney, J.D. McKinney, Earlene Moss Woodruff, Betty Nicholson McKinney, Lois Sparks Davis, Lynn Taylor Caveness, Eugene Tennyson, Betty Jo Ward Smith and Donald Wilemon; and

WHEREAS, we join New Site High School in recognizing these outstanding Mississippi citizens and their contributions to our state at this auspicious event:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby congratulate the members of the New Site High School "Class of 1958" on the occasion of their 50th Class Reunion to be held April 19, 2008, and extend to them and their families the best wishes of the State Senate.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That this resolution be forwarded to members of the New Site High School Class of 1958 and be made available to the Capitol Press Corps.
