House Amendments to Senate Bill No. 3218

 

TO THE SECRETARY OF THE SENATE:

 

  THIS IS TO INFORM YOU THAT THE HOUSE HAS ADOPTED THE AMENDMENTS SET OUT BELOW:

 

 

AMENDMENT NO. 1

 

     Amend by striking all after the enacting clause and inserting in lieu thereof the following:

 

     SECTION 1.  (1)  The governing authorities of the City of Vicksburg, Mississippi, are authorized and empowered, in their discretion, to negotiate and enter into contracts to construct public improvements over, under and along railroad rights-of-way.

     (2)  The provisions of this section shall be repealed on December 31, 2011.

     SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.

     Further, amend by striking the title in its entirety and inserting in lieu thereof the following:

 

     AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY OF VICKSBURG, MISSISSIPPI, TO NEGOTIATE AND ENTER INTO CONTRACTS WITH RAILROAD COMPANIES TO CONSTRUCT PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS OVER, UNDER AND ALONG RAILROAD RIGHTS-OF-WAY; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
