A RESOLUTION TO AMEND THE SENATE RULES TO PROVIDE A LIMIT ON THE DAILY NUMBER OF REQUESTS FOR "ADJOURNMENT IN MEMORY" BY EACH SENATOR FROM THE SENATE FLOOR OR IN WRITING.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That the Senate Rules are amended by inserting the following new Senate Rule 27B to read as follows:
27B. Beginning with the 2007 Regular Session, any Senator who wishes to adjourn in memory of an individual who is recently deceased will be limited to five (5) such requests for adjournment in memory in any one (1) legislative day. Requests for adjournment in memory may be made by the Senator from the Senate floor or may be made by the Senator in writing to the Secretary of the Senate.
