A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION SUSPENDING THE DEADLINES FOR THE PURPOSE OF REQUESTING THE DRAFTING, INTRODUCTION, CONSIDERATION AND PASSAGE OF A BILL ENTITLED "AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION 27-65-101, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, TO PROVIDE THAT FROM AND AFTER JANUARY 1, 2006, SALES OF COMPONENT MATERIALS USED IN THE REPLACEMENT OR REPAIR OF CERTAIN BUILDINGS DESTROYED OR DAMAGED AS A RESULT OF A DISASTER DECLARED BY THE GOVERNOR AND SALES OF CERTAIN MACHINERY OR EQUIPMENT USED TO REPLACE MACHINERY OR EQUIPMENT DAMAGED OR DESTROYED AS A RESULT OF SUCH DISASTER SHALL BE EXEMPT FROM ALL OR A PORTION OF THE SALES TAX; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES."
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES CONCURRING THEREIN, That the Joint Rules of the Senate and the House are hereby suspended for the purpose of requesting the drafting, introduction, consideration and passage, regardless of any deadlines imposed by said rules, of a bill entitled "AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION 27-65-101, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, TO PROVIDE THAT FROM AND AFTER JANUARY 1, 2006, SALES OF COMPONENT MATERIALS USED IN THE REPLACEMENT OR REPAIR OF CERTAIN BUILDINGS DESTROYED OR DAMAGED AS A RESULT OF A DISASTER DECLARED BY THE GOVERNOR AND SALES OF CERTAIN MACHINERY OR EQUIPMENT USED TO REPLACE MACHINERY OR EQUIPMENT DAMAGED OR DESTROYED AS A RESULT OF SUCH DISASTER SHALL BE EXEMPT FROM ALL OR A PORTION OF THE SALES TAX; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES."
