AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE STATE BOARD OF TRUSTEES FOR INSTITUTIONS OF HIGHER LEARNING TO TRANSFER AND CONVEY TO THE STATE VETERANS AFFAIRS BOARD CERTAIN REAL PROPERTY LOCATED IN NEWTON COUNTY, MISSISSIPPI, FOR USE AS A STATE VETERANS CEMETERY; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:
SECTION 1. The State Board of Trustees for Institutions of Higher Learning is authorized to transfer and convey to the State Veterans Affairs Board certain state-owned real property located at the Mississippi State University Coastal Plains Experiment Station in Newton County, Mississippi, such property being approximately seventy-five (75) acres.
(2) The real property described in subsection (1) shall be used by the State Board of Veterans Affairs as a state veterans cemetery.
(3) If construction of a state veterans cemetery on the real property described in subsection (1) has not commenced within ten (10) years from the effective date of this act, then such property shall revert to the State Board of Trustees for Institutions of Higher Learning.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
