A RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING EMILY KATHERINE EADS ON BECOMING THE 5A GIRLS STATE POLE VAULT CHAMPION AND FOR HER OUTSTANDING ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE.
WHEREAS, Ms. Emily K. Eads, a junior who attends Brandon High School, set the state record for pole vault, with a jump of an impressive 8'6" and became the girls State Pole Vault Champion; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Eads, who is superbly coached by John McInnis, won a prized first place medallion for her pole vault at the 5A State Meet that was held in Pearl, Mississippi; and
WHEREAS, as a contributing team member of Brandon High School's girls track team, Ms. Eads helped the Lady Dogs capture their first track 5A State Championship; and
WHEREAS, in addition to her superb performance on the track field, Ms. Eads also excels in her academics at Brandon High School; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Eads is a member of the prestigious National Honor Society where she exudes the principles of the honor society which are scholarship, service, leadership, character and citizenship; and
WHEREAS, in addition to being a member of the National Honor Society, Ms. Eads is also a member of the Beta Club which speaks volumes of her academic achievements; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Eads also had the notable accomplishment of representing Brandon High School in the Hugh O'Brien Youth Leadership Conference at Millsaps College where her leadership skills were honed and have been an asset for Ms. Eads as she exhibits her natural leadership qualities; and
WHEREAS, it is the policy of the House of Representatives to recognize young Mississippians such as Ms. Emily Katherine Eads who not only excels athletically but also academically:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend and congratulate Ms. Emily Katherine Eads on becoming the girls 5A State Pole Vault Champion and for her academic achievements, and we wish her much success in all her future endeavors.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to Ms. Emily Katherine Eads and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
