A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION CHANGING THE DATE OF SINE DIE ADJOURNMENT OF THE 2007 REGULAR SESSION OF THE LEGISLATURE FROM APRIL 3, 2007, TO APRIL 4, 2007.
WHEREAS, the 2007 Regular Session of the Legislature was extended in House Concurrent Resolution No. 119, 2007 Regular Session, for a period of thirty (30) days from the final day of the ninety (90) calendar days of the 2007 Regular Session of the Legislature, under the provisions of Section 36, Mississippi Constitution of 1890.
WHEREAS, Section 68 of the Mississippi Constitution of 1890 provides that no appropriation or revenue bill may be passed during the last five (5) days of the session, and in order to adopt appropriation and revenue bills by the end of the day on Friday, March 30, 2007, the sine die date must be extended by five (5) days past March 30, 2007:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, THE SENATE CONCURRING THEREIN, That the 2007 Regular Session of the Legislature will stand adjourned Sine Die at 12:00 midnight, Wednesday, April 4, 2007.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That this resolution supersedes the provision of House Concurrent Resolution No. 119, 2007 Regular Session, that sets the date of Sine Die adjournment for Tuesday, April 3, 2007.
