AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE GOVERNING AUTHORITIES OF THE CITY OF CANTON TO APPOINT TO THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF CANTON MUNICIPAL UTILITIES A REPRESENTATIVE FROM THE AREA SERVED BY THE COMMISSION OUTSIDE THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE MUNICIPALITY; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:
SECTION 1. The governing authorities of the City of Canton, Mississippi, in their discretion, may appoint one (1) commissioner to the Board of Commissioners of Canton Municipal Utilities, a public utility commission created pursuant to Section 21-27-13, Mississippi Code of 1972, who does not reside within the municipality but is a resident of any area provided water, sewer, natural gas or electric services by Canton Municipal Utilities outside the corporate limits of the City of Canton.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
