AN ACT TO RESTRICT THE OPERATION OF WATER VESSELS WITHIN FIVE HUNDRED FEET OF CERTAIN SHORELINES; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:
SECTION 1. Notwithstanding any other provision of law, no person may operate any water vessel at a speed of more than ten (10) miles per hour within five hundred (500) feet of any mainland or island shoreline that is located within the corporate limits of a municipality located within the three (3) Coastal counties. This section shall not apply to the operation of a water vessel within the Mississippi Sound.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2007.
