A RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING DR. ELEANOR GILL OF SOUTHAVEN, MISSISSIPPI, FOR HER SUCCESSFUL TENURE AS PRESIDENT OF THE MISSISSIPPI DENTAL ASSOCIATION.

     WHEREAS, Dr. Eleanor Gill, who has a successful dental practice in DeSoto County, Mississippi, has served as the President of the Mississippi Dental Association for the 2005-2006 term; and

     WHEREAS, Dr. Gill's service to this prestigious organization took place during a year which saw our state's worst natural disaster in Hurricane Katrina, and her leadership and guidance as President is a matter of record; and

     WHEREAS, Dr. Gill's service came during a period when digital x-rays and computers were components which were advancing rapidly in the dental practice; and

     WHEREAS, Dr. Gill interacted with dental practice vendors on the Mississippi Gulf Coast during this period of stressful recovery for the dental profession; and

     WHEREAS, the American Dental Association promoted the theme of "Celebrating the Community of Dentistry" in 2005-2006 and Dr. Gill had a real understanding of the importance of association within the dental community during the period of globalization of the practice of dentistry; and

     WHEREAS, it is with great pride that we recognize the service of this dedicated health care professional, who has brought honor to her profession, her community and to her state:

     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend Dr. Eleanor Gill of Southaven, Mississippi, for her successful tenure as President of the Mississippi Dental Association, and extend to her and her family the best wishes of the Legislature on their future professional and civic endeavors.

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That this resolution be presented to Dr. Gill, be forwarded to the Board of Directors of the Mississippi Dental Association, and be made available to the Capitol Press Corps.
