AMENDMENT NO 1 PROPOSED TO

Cmte Sub for Senate Bill No. 2560

     Amend by deleting the last sentence of subsection (1) on lines 36 and 37 and inserting in lieu thereof the following:

The chairperson and vice chairperson shall be elected by and from the entire membership of the governing board at the first meeting in July of each year.  The vice chairperson shall preside over meetings as the chairperson in the absence or incapacity of the chairperson.  In addition, an official meeting may be called at any time by a two-thirds (2/3) proclamation by the board membership.

     Further, amend on lines 48 and 49 by deleting the words "the next general election for supervisors," and inserting in lieu thereof "June 30, 2008,"

     Further amend the title to conform.
