COMMITTEE AMENDMENT NO 1 PROPOSED TO

     Amend by striking all after the enacting clause and inserting in lieu thereof the following:

 

     SECTION 1.  Section 73-3-401, Mississippi Code of 1972, is amended as follows:

     73-3-401.  Sections 73-3-2 through 73-3-59, which create the Board of Bar Admissions and prescribe its duties and powers, and which provide certain regulations regarding the practice of law in this state, shall stand repealed as of July 1, 2010.

     SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.

     Further, amend by striking the title in its entirety and inserting in lieu thereof the following:

 

     AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION 73-3-401, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, TO EXTEND THE REPEALER ON SECTIONS 73-3-2 THROUGH 73-3-59, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, WHICH CREATE THE BOARD OF BAR ADMISSIONS AND PRESCRIBE ITS DUTIES AND POWERS AND PROVIDE CERTAIN REGULATIONS REGARDING THE PRACTICE OF LAW IN THIS STATE; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
