AMENDMENT NO 1 TO COMMITTEE AMENDMENT NO 1 PROPOSED TO

Senate Bill No. 2689

     AMEND on line 406 by inserting the following after the word "trustees":  "; and except that any community hospital serving a county that joined the Public Employees' Retirement System as of June 1, 1965, to offer social security coverage for its employees and subsequently extended retirement annuity coverage to its employees as of January 1, 1975, may have future retirement annuity coverage restricted to those hospital employees who joined the system and became members of the system before July 1, 2006; and except that any community hospital serving a county that joined the Public Employees' Retirement System as of October 1, 1963, to offer social security coverage for its employees and subsequently extended retirement annuity coverage to its employees as of August 1, 1979, may have future retirement annuity coverage restricted to those hospital employees who joined the system and became members of the system before July 1, 2006"

     AMEND FURTHER the title on line 11 by inserting the following after the semicolon:  "TO ALLOW CERTAIN COMMUNITY HOSPITALS TO HAVE RETIREMENT ANNUITY RETIREMENT COVERAGE UNDER THE PUBLIC EMPLOYEES' RETIREMENT SYSTEM RESTRICTED TO EMPLOYEES WHO BECAME MEMBERS OF THE SYSTEM BEFORE JULY 1, 2006;
