AMENDMENT NO 1 PROPOSED TO

House Bill No.  209

BY: Representatives Cummings, McBride, Gadd, Franks, Coleman (29th), Holland, Flaggs

     AMEND by deleting lines 8 through 15 in their entirety and inserting in lieu thereof the following:

     "SECTION 1.  (1)  For the fiscal year beginning on July 1, 2006, and the fiscal year beginning on July 1, 2007, the annual compensation of each state employee, each employee of the state institutions of higher learning, and each employee of public community and junior colleges that has been employed for twelve (12) months or longer by the state, the state institutions of higher learning or the public community and junior colleges, shall be increased by an amount equal to One Thousand Dollars ($1,000.00), effective on July 1 of the year."

     AMEND FURTHER the title by inserting the following language before the semicolon on line 4:  "FOR EACH OF FISCAL YEARS 2007 AND 2008;"
